A proper lovely Yorkshire pub, and we can’t wait to come back! We stayed overnight at the Old Oak tree, and the room was beautiful. On Saturday night we ate in the pub, where the food was gorgeous and there was plenty of it. We shared the king prawn starter, then I had the 14 oz local Rib eye steak and my wife had baked salmon in white wine sauce. The portions were big! The beer was excellent, I chose the theakstons. Two young women gave really good service, informative and attentive. Breakfast on Sunday was lovely too. Unbelievable stay, well done guys!

We booked ahead to stay in the carpark with our campervan. It has a lovely rural outlook, plus a stream side footpath leading into Thirsk. The menu is extensive, the food tasty, and the young staff really friendly. Highly recommend!.

We’ll definitely visit again soon. We had lunch at the Old Oak Tree today, and even though it was very busy and we hadn’t booked, the welcoming staff seated us straight away. There were plenty of staff, service was great, and the food came out quickly. It’s a lovely old style pub with a nice atmosphere. The food was great, classic pub fare done to a great standard.

The two young ladies gave brilliant service. I stopped in for lunch today and had gammon, with a huge 16oz steak alongside. The meals were homemade and fresh, with fresh veg and no frozen chips. Prices were very reasonable, and the beer was good and well priced too.

We stopped here overnight on our way north. The staff were attentive and friendly without hovering, and the room was warm and comfortable. The menu is ambitious and the food lived up to it. Try the cod loin.
