The bed was really comfortable, and I enjoyed the tasty cooked breakfast. The room was wonderful and had everything I needed for an overnight stay. I’d happily recommend it and look forward to coming back.

I had a lovely, cosy room for the night, with a modern bathroom and a large walk-in shower. Toiletries were provided, breakfast the next morning was great, and the staff were friendly.

Breakfast was delicious, and the team were welcoming, polite, and friendly. They catered for my dairy-free diet with dairy-free milk, butter, and yoghurt. Our ground-floor room was comfortable and nicely presented, with a table and chairs just outside that were perfect for an afternoon cuppa and biscuit. There were plenty of thoughtful extras in the room, too, including tea, coffee, milk, hot chocolate, biscuits, hand wash, moisturiser, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. A really lovely B&B. We’ll be back.

A good spot for visiting York, the surrounding wolds, and the coast. Our room was very clean and tidy, with a large TV and facilities for making drinks. The walk-in shower was spacious, and breakfast the next day was a very good English one.

At around £70 a night, we’ve stayed in much friendlier, more welcoming B&Bs in National Parks. This place is in the middle of nowhere, and we’d try somewhere else next time. We’d expected more after seeing the 4.7 rating here, and compared with the many other B&Bs we’ve used, we were underwhelmed. Check-in started badly: there was no host to greet us, just key boxes in the car park, and ours was empty. The owner arrived a few minutes after we called with the key. The rooms have been recently renovated, but the double bed felt small compared with the king-size beds we’re used to. There are Venetian blinds but no curtains, and they let in a lot of light even when shut, so sunlight woke us at 5:30am. Breakfast is served at the owner’s other B&B, about a 15-minute walk or a mile away. The food was fine, but having to go somewhere else felt a bit bizarre. The host was very direct, which some people might find a little rude.
