There was plenty of parking, the cabins were spacious, and the views were beautiful. We were there for a few nights to see family and scatter a loved one's ashes, and the location worked really well. The honesty shop was a nice touch, too. We all had a lovely time, and I'd really like to book another stay.

Getting there means using a pretty narrow road, but the quiet, remote setting and views make it worthwhile. Our stay in the Rowley Long Mountain Cabin was lovely. It was warm and cosy, a welcome escape from the busy city. We watched the stars and got some great pictures of the clear sky. There's pony trekking nearby as well, which made the stay extra special for families.

The host was lovely, and it felt like great value. We had a peaceful spot and even got coals and tools for the BBQ, which you don't often find included. A great place for a quiet break away from city life.

The view alone makes the drive worthwhile. Our cabin up on the Welsh border Long Mountain felt like a little bit of heaven, and our 7 and 8 year old girls loved seeing the pony and her foal in the field out front. They'd come galloping over and greet the girls when we got back from day trips. We booked their first pony trek and they enjoyed it so much we signed them up for a second. The staff were friendly and great with the children, helping them feel confident around the ponies and even get up to a trot on their first go. We'd happily recommend a holiday here, a ride, or both.

The horses beside the lodges are a lovely extra, and the owners were friendly. There's an honesty box on site with a good range of stock. The lodges are nicely laid out, with great mountain views, and I'd recommend a few days away here. WiFi came and went on our first night, but after that it was fine. We were there to get away from everyday life, so being online all the time wasn't a big deal.
