A lovely little gem in Shrewsbury, with a great central location that made it easy to get everywhere on foot. The breakfast was excellent and came with a genuine smile. I'd happily stay again.

We had a great early evening meal while visiting Shrewsbury. For £20, we got two decent sized portions with no frills: Fish and Chips for me and Mushroom and peppers Stroganoff for my wife. It was 5pm on Monday, so we were the only diners at first, though others came in as we were leaving.

We walked in and ordered Sunday lunch, even though it was Monday. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and dogs are welcome in the bar area. Lunch was £10, plus beers. We like the olde worlde style, if that suits you too.

Breakfast was generous and good quality, and we enjoyed the pub food and beer in the bar that evening. The Old Post Office is tucked away in a little yard, so it was quiet despite being right in town. Our room was clean, nicely furnished and a decent size. There’s no parking on site, but the nearby NCP was £8 a day through the app.

The food was outstanding value, and breakfast was just right with excellent service. We had a lovely weekend, with a great room and friendly staff around whenever we needed them.
