Seaside Escape Chalet in Sidmouth

The place was clean, tidy and comfortable, with a good location. It had the basics we needed, like mugs, cooking equipment and crockery, and that was enough for us.

The property was dirty, with dog hair everywhere and mould behind the bed, reaching the bed frame in the smaller room with two single beds. That bed was already dirty before anyone used it. The lampshades were broken, and the strips between doorways were missing, leaving a lot of filth there. The shower base was broken and hidden by a shower mat. I only realised once I was inside, and my daughter hurt her foot. The oven was filthy, the microwave smelled, the grass out front was extremely overgrown, and the blind in the smaller room was broken and wouldn’t open fully. The bins were overflowing, and there were rats. Neighbours said the grounds hadn’t been cut in about two years because the grounds charge hadn’t been paid. There was much more as well. Please don’t make my mistake and book this. The owner has the place next door too, and the builders never came back because they hadn’t been paid, so I wonder if he’s done the same here and tried to cover things up. Some of the issues can be dangerous, especially for children. Do not book here.

Easy to find, clean and comfortable. Just right for an overnight stop.
