Both owners are lovely and happy to help, and the apartment felt homely as well as very clean. The converted stables sit in a beautiful, peaceful area. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook, even a steamer pan, and there were plenty of extras in the fridge and bread bin, including decaf tea. I’d recommend staying here.

We had a fault-free weeklong rental, though a car is absolutely essential. Doddington pub, Chequers, is an excellent, mid-priced option only a five-minute drive away, so give it a try while you’re here. The place is spacious and clean, with quality pots and pans, two ovens, a dishwasher, a washing machine and plenty more. The owners are there if you need them. There’s a large bathroom with a heated floor, plus supplies and accessories, and the double bed is comfortable.

Our hosts made us feel very welcome and suggested places to visit and eat nearby. The room was clean, lovely and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. We had a fantastic stay.

We used this lovely little gem as a base for days out around the area, and will definitely book again next time we’re nearby. It was bright, spacious and cosy, with some local treats in the fridge as an added bonus.

Kate was warm and welcoming, and very helpful both before and during my stay. I had a lovely couple of nights and will use the place again when I’m in the area.
