The Monsell Hotel

We spent one night in an extra-large room, and honestly had no complaints. The place is a gem, with friendly service, clean and comfortable rooms, parking, and easy access with a key fob. It's only a five-minute walk to the seafront. We'll definitely come back, and I highly recommend it.

The room was clean and very quiet, which was a plus, and the bed was really comfortable. My Mrs enjoyed the tea and coffee. The owners were friendly, and for a small fee we could leave our bags there and collect them later, which was a nice touch. We were very happy with our little getaway and would gladly stay again. I'll recommend it to friends and family. Keep up the great work.

The room was clean, the shower was a good size, and the price was reasonable. I only had beans on toast for breakfast since it was cheaper than a full English. Parking could be an issue if you're unlucky. Other people say it's no problem, and I got the last-but-one space, but there were no spaces on the road either, at 3pm when people would have been at work. The walls really are thin, as others mention, and I could easily hear the neighbours on both sides. Despite those minor points, I'd definitely stay again. It should really be a 3-star hotel.

It's a clean hotel with friendly, helpful owners. The guy kindly helped me get my bag upstairs, which I appreciated since our room was on the second floor and there's no lift. The rooms are spacious and kept clean, though a little tired. When my son dropped something beside his bed, I was worried about what I'd find, but it was clean. Unfortunately, the travel cot we borrowed wasn't very clean, and the mesh sides were quite dirty. The beach was a five-minute walk, and getting to the main stretch took around 10-15 minutes. For the price, I'd consider staying again.
