The room was wonderfully quiet, the bed was really comfortable, and the staff were friendly. There was plenty of parking, and the bar on the fifth floor had lovely views. The place still has that new smell. After more than 20 years of staying in Travelodges around the country, this was the nicest one I’ve been to. Had a brilliant stay last week and can’t wait to return.

The hotel itself is lovely, spotless and in a good spot, and the rooms are basic in the usual Travelodge way but fine for a few nights. The restaurant upstairs is nice, though the views aren’t particularly good. Service was the real letdown. We waited around 45 minutes for dinner, and there was no cutlery on the table. When I asked, the waiter seemed confused, so I found some in the breakfast area myself. The portions were tiny, although the food tasted very nice. Dessert took even longer. After asking twice and waiting about 40 minutes, I asked if I could take it to our room, but it still wasn’t ready. One dessert was yoghurt, which only needed taking from the fridge for my little boy, who was getting upset by then. I asked for a refund for all the desserts. We were told some staff had walked out that week and they were short staffed at opening. The man apologised, but could have fetched the yoghurt himself and chose not to. Breakfast was basic but edible, with no fried eggs and no real problems. We left the room sign out for three days asking for towels and it was ignored each time, even though we saw cleaners upstairs as we left. The hotel is nice, but service was pretty poor. I’d avoid eating dinner there.

My room was roomy and looked out over pleasure beach. The hotel is still fairly new, and having Starbucks right next door was handy. Parking was just £2 for 24 hours, and the reception staff were brilliant.

We only stayed one night after seeing Anton du beke at the Embassy theatre, and it felt far too short. The room was great, with friendly, efficient staff. For £30, we had a wonderful sea view, which is hard to beat. Parking was £2 for 24 hours and the buffet breakfast cost £10.50. We’ll definitely come back.

The location by the sea was great, with lots of good restaurants nearby and a Starbucks next door. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, Wi-Fi worked well, and the shower was hot and powerful. Check-in was quick, the staff gave us all the information, and there’s a lift to every floor. The car park was a good size too, though the carpet in our room could have used a proper vacuum. I’d stay again if I’m in the area.
