The room wasn't messy when we arrived, but there were several deep holes in the wall and no WiFi at all. The shower door was hanging off, the bed squeaked whenever either of us moved, and the door lock didn't work properly, which felt like a real issue in a hotel full of strangers. We also struggled to get hot water until the person who greeted us came and fixed it. The website photos don't represent the hotel we found.

The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, and hadn't been made properly. The room was cold, with a thin quilt and just one very thin pillow each. The bathroom door creaked like something in a gothic castle, and you could hear every creak and snore from the room above as though they were in the same room. They also never replied to my messages before the stay. At 4am, still awake, my fiance said this was the worst hotel we'd ever stayed in. I agreed.

The man who greeted us was the only good part. At the front door, it wasn't clear where reception was, and someone just poked their head out of a room. Room 6 had nowhere to hang clothes, though luckily we didn't need to hang anything. The bed was lumpy and tilted to one side. The shower doors wouldn't close properly, and the seal was broken. The bathroom mirror was too high for me at 5'3, so I could only see the top of my head. The hot water tap was loose, the door didn't lock properly, and the bathroom bulb eventually went out. This shouldn't be a B&B, and I certainly won't stay again.

I booked at the last minute and got just what I needed, with no disappointment. The room was warm and fresh, the sheets and towels were clean, and the shower had hot running water. I had a peaceful night's sleep over my two nights there. I'd definitely recommend the hotel and stay again.

We arrived and a lady told us our room had to be changed because they didn't have the key. Shocking, but we accepted it. The replacement room was extremely dirty, with crumbs and glitter everywhere and wrapping paper on the wardrobe. The door wouldn't shut properly, which felt like a safety and security risk, and the TV didn't work properly either. We left within the hour and booked somewhere else. There was no apology or anything. They just accepted it like this was normal. The worst place I've travelled to, and I'm on the road all year.
