The Bailey Holidays

It takes less than five minutes to walk to the town centre. Our host Mark made us feel welcome, and the hut is cosy without feeling cramped. The bathroom and shower are surprisingly spacious. Easy to give the accommodation top marks.

We loved being able to sit outside surrounded by nature, hear the wildlife and even see the stars at night. It’s a romantic place for a couple who want the town nearby, but somewhere tucked away to retreat to in the evening. Mark and Kay were absolutely lovely, and their dogs were super cute.

March 2019 brought another lovely week at Bailey Cottage. The weather was wet and wildly windy, but Mark and Kay made us feel so welcome. Coming back here after exploring Skipton or the Dales is a real treat, and I could happily watch the sheep from the window. Mark also showed us the Shepherds Hut and the B & B rooms, which are superb. We’ve loved our stays in this home from home and will return. The location makes it easy to walk into town and get out into the countryside, and Mark and Kay are wonderful hosts, clearly putting a lot into offering guests a range of comfortable places to stay.

We came to Skipton for a friend's wedding, and the Bailey was a lovely base. Mark and Kay were welcoming and shared helpful information about the area. Our room looked out over a mature garden, and breakfast was excellent. It was our first time in Yorkshire. We managed a couple of trips to the town centre market, but wished we’d had longer to explore. The castle and town centre are an easy walk away. We’ll definitely come back.
