Windmill brewery is well worth stopping by for a drink and a friendly welcome. The place itself was a perfect getaway, with lovely hosts and a self-contained space that had everything we needed. Tastefully decorated and furnished too.

The price felt affordable for the service we got. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and I felt safe and comfortable throughout. A really good environment for a retreat.

We've stayed twice now, and it's such a lovely conversion. The bedroom is superb, and dogs are welcome. There's hardly anything to eat out at locally, so we cook for ourselves. It's a quiet, cosy hideaway for a weekend, and we'll come back in summer for more walks.

We liked The Stable so much on our first visit that we've booked two more stays. It's in a beautiful spot, and inside it's cosy and comfortable with everything you need.

We were glad to find The Old Stable for our long stay from November through January. Great Hale is a peaceful little village, and Heckington is a short walk away for the facilities you might need, plus the 8 sail windmill. The church is just across the road, and we could hear its clock chime, though we didn't find it intrusive. James and Joanna were lovely hosts, always available when needed without getting in our way. The Stable had everything for our stay: a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge with a smart TV, and a gas stove that made winter evenings cosy. There was also a bedroom with twin beds, a utility room with a washer-dryer combo, and a small bathroom with a lovely hot shower. We were happy here and would recommend it.
