The Pines Hotel

The food and service were great, and I’d stay again. The room was tastefully decorated, the bed was very comfortable, and the sheets were high-quality cotton. But it needs more maintenance: the sink was blocked and I fixed it myself, the bathroom handle was hanging off, I had to lift the bedroom door to lock it, and the TV remote didn’t work.

Our employees enjoy staying here because it feels like a home away from home. We regularly book it for staff who work away during the week, and it’s great value for money in the area. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always willing to do whatever they can. We’ve also held a couple of business dinners here in 2017. Everything ran like clockwork and the food was delicious. I can’t praise the hotel enough. Highly recommend.

The rooms have recently been refurbished, and the staff are friendly and courteous. The Pines is a lovely family-run hotel in beautiful countryside between Taplow, High Wycombe, Maidenhead and Marlow. It’s a great choice for a weekend away, wedding parties, or business events, and you can easily drive to lots of lovely places nearby. There’s also a pool and hot tub, which are great in summer. Highly recommended!

The owner was friendly and nice, and gave me a bottle of wine when I checked out after I complained about a guest ringing the doorbell outside my room at 11:30 pm. No one answered, so I got dressed and answered it myself. The poor guy and his pizza were nearly frozen. My room was cold when I arrived and again the second night, especially the marble bathroom tiles. On arrival the shower had no hot water, though that was fixed, and later I had to run the tap for a long time to get hot water. Breakfast was mostly good, but my poached eggs weren’t drained enough and left a puddle on the plate. I skipped breakfast on day two after the disturbed night and getting up late. I hadn’t realised they had cats and a dog. Maybe it was mentioned in the hotel information online, but I didn’t see it. I’m not against animals, just not around accommodation and food.
