We spent five days at Yewtree house and have just got home. There were 16 of us, from 70 years old down to one, and we'd highly recommend it for a family getaway. The hot tub and games room were a big hit with everyone. The house was spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms and everything we needed close at hand. We had no issues. It's peaceful and quiet, with easy access to everywhere.

The hot tub was a nice way to unwind after walks and a visit to nearby Lowther Castle. We stayed with 10 adults and 8 children, and there were still spare bedrooms. The house never felt cramped, and the water pressure and hot water were both great. Excellent house and location.

We had a flawless experience from start to finish at this exceptional, spacious property, which was well provisioned and set in a beautiful part of the country. We spent two nights there for my mum's birthday, but it wasn't nearly long enough. There's so much to explore nearby. We're already looking forward to booking again.

The hot tub was a lovely extra, and the bedrooms were spacious with really comfortable beds. We found lots of little touches that made our stay easier. Everything felt brand new, but still had a warm country feel. It's beautifully decorated and very comfortable, ideal for a big group. The street is quiet, and there's a restaurant and pub just a three minute walk around the corner.

The landlord's treatment of us ruined the weekend. We booked the house for a family break from busy London and were really looking forward to it, but found him rude, grumpy and angry. On the second day, after neighbours complained about loud music, he left me a nasty voicemail without asking for our side of the story. We played music at 11am, and it wasn't blasting. We had children in the house who were still asleep. He threatened that the police would come and fine us for breach of peace if we didn't stop the music. Later he said the booking agency would fine us if the police didn't come, because we weren't following the house rules. The hallway sign clearly said no noise from 7 am until 11pm, and we followed that completely. It was very disappointing after paying so much, and it affected our happiness. We'll never go back.
