After a 31-hour trip from Camogli, Italy to Alabama, I got back to find the passenger-side front window smashed, despite having paid to park here. I’d left at 2 AM local time and arrived home at 2 AM the next day, after airport naps, overpriced coffee, a one-hour drive, and speaking with police. The damage and stolen items may cost $200-$300 to put right. I felt especially exposed because I’m a 5'2" woman traveling alone and was badly jetlagged. When I told reception, the staff member said to call the police, then went back inside, leaving me by myself outside while I waited for them. I felt unsafe and unsupported. There also seemed to be just one staff member covering reception and the airport shuttle, which led to long waits and confusion. I regret leaving my car here and wouldn’t recommend this place, particularly to anyone traveling alone.

We came for an event and stayed in a deluxe suite. The outside might give the wrong impression, but inside the room was very nice. There was no air conditioning or fan at first, though staff brought a fan when we asked. Everyone was really friendly from the start, and check-in was quick and easy. When we ordered food to the hotel later, the staff also found us some cutlery. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I’d definitely recommend it and will come back.

We first stayed here for our first big date ten years ago, when she was my future wife, and came back again. It was just as enjoyable this time. The room had what we needed for a restful sleep and a relaxing stay, and the team were so helpful that they sorted anything we asked for in seconds. They even let me take breakfast back to the room on day two, which made a full English in bed hard to beat. Breakfast has plenty of choices, with endless tea, coffee and juice, and seconds or thirds if you’re still hungry. I’m vegetarian and my wife eats meat, and we were both happy with the options. They even made veggie sausages. The hotel is right in central Solihull, with what you need a short walk away and both the city and lovely countryside close by. We can recommend it for any occasion and hope to return soon.

The food was delicious, with a lovely choice at both dinner and breakfast. We stayed in one of the townhouse suites as a Christmas treat for my boyfriend and me, and it was amazing. The hotel was extremely clean, our room was well stocked, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. A beautiful place to stay.

I only stayed for a night out in Solihull, so I can’t comment on the hotel facilities beyond the room. Parking was free, and reception was quick and easy. The room was surprisingly good for a standard double: comfy bed, a nicely finished bathroom with a good-sized walk-in shower, plus a large TV, mini fridge and safe. It was quiet, with a nice view over the bowling green.
