We were in the village for a wedding and got there early on Friday evening. The bar staff were rushed off their feet, yet they worked so hard and were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food was great too. The rooms aren’t luxurious, but they were perfectly adequate. A lovely place.

The staff and service were excellent, and the food was delicious. There’s plenty of beer if that’s your thing. The rooms have a bit of a unique charm, but if there’s an event on, you might not get to sleep early. You could ask for a room that isn’t directly above the pub.

The ale was faultless, easily the best I’ve had in ages. I ended up having a good three and a half pints, a little more than I usually do, but it really hit the spot. The food was just as amazing, and the table service was brilliant. One of the best pubs I’ve been to this year.

We went for my son’s birthday and had a lovely time. The people were lovely, and they’re extremely dog friendly. The food was outstanding, especially the broccoli and Stilton soup. My wife is thinking about going back for her birthday too.

We’d stopped in hoping for a nice meal at a country pub, but four very noisy young children spoiled the atmosphere. They were sitting alone at a table without supervision while their parents sat elsewhere. We ate and left as quickly as we could.
