The room was quiet and dark at night, so I slept well, and the annex-style setup made it easy to come and go early or late. The host was lovely and showed me to my room when I arrived. For one person, the bed was enormous, which was great. It’s also handy for the NEC, about 15 minutes away. They’d provided towels, shower products, and tea and coffee. My only small gripe was the en-suite: the light switch had come away from the ceiling, and when I turned on the shower, water burst out above the shower head and went all over the floor. It caught me off guard.

The girls were so well looked after, and the place looked gorgeous inside, all pretty and pink. They had robes, headbands, little flip-flops, and lots of staff around to help. My daughter and her friends had the best time at her 7th birthday pamper party, with face masks, hair colours, nails, glitter tattoos, a foot spa, relaxing time, and afternoon tea served in plastic flutes. Every mum said her child called it the best party ever. It was the perfect girly celebration, and I’d 100% recommend it. Thank you for making her birthday so special :) x x x

Amy gave me a neck, back, and shoulder massage and got the pressure just right, not too firm or too gentle. She checked in throughout to make sure I was comfortable. She was lovely, and even had water ready for me when I came out. I’d highly recommend her.

We booked the place for Sunday afternoon tea and had a great time. The food was fresh, really good quality, and there was plenty of it. They asked about dietary needs and catered for them, and the tea and coffee were excellent, with regular and decaf options. There’s also a selection of alcohol available. The staff were warm, friendly, professional, knowledgeable, discreet, and easy to deal with. Everything was spotless, including the toilet, even though a children’s party had been there just before us. It’s a small property among residential houses, used as a spa and a hire venue of a decent size. There are sheltered outdoor booths and some open space, plus a hot tub, though we didn’t use it so can’t comment on that. There are two spaces by the main entrance and plenty of roadside parking. We had an excellent visit and would recommend it and come back.

Mary has clearly put thought into what guests might need, with lots of amenities and little extras. The spa areas looked really special, and I’m thinking I’ll book a treatment next time. We spent one evening in a garden booth and another in the lounge, both very pleasant. Parking and Wi-Fi are free. We stayed two nights in October 2024 at Achill House. My husband and I had a double room, while our daughter and three young children were in the family room. We felt welcome, and the rooms were comfortable and suited us well. For breakfast we went to The Wilsons around the corner. It worked out well because the children ate for £1 each at breakfast and dinner. Just note that adult breakfast is £6.99, with bottomless coffee costing another £2.50 each. We’ll certainly return. Thanks to Mary and the staff.
