Premier Inn Southampton West Quay

We parked overnight at West Quay for £15, which seemed reasonable for a secure city centre car park. The hotel was ideal for our cruise the next day, right in central Southampton and close to the terminals, with plenty of nearby dining and shopping. The room was well equipped, the bar staff friendly, and breakfast was good quality. One of the best Premier Inns we’ve stayed in. I’d come back.

The room was comfortable, though the Plus room carpet had stains and the paint was scuffed and chipped. Staff were friendly, but dinner service was slow and breakfast service didn’t happen at all, so I sat down and helped myself after paying through the meal deal. The hotel is central, but getting to the advertised car park was a pain. It’s the multistorey next door, sharing an entrance with IKEA. I missed the first turn, ended up in the wrong car park, then had to leave, rejoin the main road, find a place to turn around and come back in.

Sara at reception recognizes me whenever I stay and always gives me a very warm welcome. The hotel is handy for going into town, or for me, getting to work at the University. Rooms are clean and well appointed, and both the bar and restaurant are excellent. Thanks especially to Kasia the DM and chef Demisa, who were both superb.

I was here for a week for work. The location is central, near West Quay shopping centre and Ocean Terminal, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean and the shower had strong pressure. The menu had more variety than I expected, and everything I ate during the week was lovely. Book a table if you plan to eat at the hotel, especially when a Ship is leaving in the morning, as it got VERY busy then. The 5-8pm Happy Hour was good value for drinks.
