Southampton City Apartments by Charles Hope

My reservation was cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, so I had to find somewhere else at a higher price. I still haven’t been offered a refund. I’d appreciate someone getting in touch to resolve this as soon as possible.

The apartment itself was lovely, and I couldn’t fault it. The appliances were nice, the tea and coffee were a thoughtful touch, and having a Coop opposite was handy. But we chose this place because it was advertised with a gym, and then we were told we couldn’t use it when we arrived. That’s why I’ve given it two stars. The listing was misleading.

We booked an 11-day work stay at the Southampton apartments and got sent to the wrong car park by a staff member over the phone. We ended up with parking tickets for all 11 days, totalling over £1000. Even though one of their employees gave us the wrong directions, Charles Hope said there was nothing they could do. Don’t use them.

We stayed for two weeks between house moves, and the apartment was kept to a high standard. It had modern furnishings and the comforts of home, and the cleaning team were welcoming and friendly. The Wi-Fi worked without any connection problems, and the location right in the heart of Staines high street was great. The only downside was the lack of private parking, so using the Two Rivers car park costs extra. We’d happily stay again and recommend it.
