Ground Floor Haven Hotel

Avoid this place. We were left waiting outside for more than 15 minutes until someone finally let us in, after several calls. The owner hung up on me, and the “reception” didn't answer either. There isn't actually a reception. The room was cold, with no WiFi or heating. The carpet, windows, toilet, bathroom and room were dirty. There was hair in the sink and someone else's sponge in the shower. The whole place smelled of urine and something else I couldn't identify. It was disgusting. I tried telling the owner that the room looked nothing like the photos. His response was “55pounds”. Worst experience ever.

The bed was comfortable, though a bit low, and the basic room was clean and tidy. But a strong smell of a certain smoke from the residential areas left us feeling high, with headaches the next morning. The rest of the hotel badly needs an upgrade.

I felt ripped off by what I paid. The place was horrible, filthy and run-down, with stained carpet, mold everywhere and a stale smell. The sheet was laid over a dirty mattress with no mattress protector. Hard to believe places like this still exist in the 21st century. I wouldn't recommend it or go back.

We booked on 13th April for 29th April. When we arrived, Rahat, who had taken my booking, wasn't there. A woman checked her system and couldn't find our reservation, then called him. He said we hadn't booked a room. I showed her the booking confirmation email I'd asked him to send and proof of purchase, and eventually we got it sorted. She took us to room 4, which smelled moldy. There was no bulb in the light, the mirror was cracked, curtains were scattered around, and the bed wasn't made. The sheet was stained, there was an unmarked raised step into the bathroom, marks on the walls and a chipped door. It was disgraceful, so we left straight away. I called Rahat and demanded a refund, but he refused. I'm taking this further.
