We were there for no more than 10 minutes before booking a Premier Inn and leaving. The place felt more like an HMO than a hotel, and there was no way we were going to sleep there. Outside looked old, tired, and unkempt, but the inside was worse: terrible smells, old dirty carpets, and a very damp, mold-covered bathroom with a bad smell. The leather chairs were dirty and covered in duct tape over large holes, and the windows were dusty and dirty. I could go on. One of the worst places I’ve been to. We don’t expect much when staying away, just somewhere clean and comfortable, and this wasn’t it.

The breakfast was absolutely lovely, and the room had everything we needed. Dave and his staff were such lovely people. Thanks, Dave, we’ll definitely stay again.

The hotel looks a bit tired and could use a refresh, but it did the job for the price, so we couldn’t complain. Its location is brilliant, with everything no more than 10 minutes away, which is handy if you need to pop back. The staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We also got a space in the car park at the front, a great bonus since we weren’t looking forward to finding parking.

The owner and staff were brilliant, friendly, and up for a bit of banter. Breakfast was freshly cooked and lovely, with decent ingredients: thick cut bacon and really good sausages, not average catering ones. The room was very clean. The mattress felt quite hard at first, though I think I’m just used to a softer one, and it became comfy once I got used to it. The hotel is ideally placed for reaching all the attractions easily. I’d definitely book here again.
