The Red Lion Inn

Christine was a delightful, friendly host, and Jane cooked excellent food. Just come ready for a big breakfast! We stayed two nights in Superior Room 4, which was clean and nicely presented, and exceeded our expectations. I can see why there are so many five star reviews. Jane, the chef, was always nearby to give me an extra push up the ramp to the door. Our room was in the annexe just outside the main building, and we were advised to park there rather than in the main car park. The food was excellent, always hot, well cooked, and with a good choice. Try the brandy snaps for dessert. As a wheelchair user, I needed an accessible room, and The Red Lion provided one in spades. The room and wet room were spacious and superbly clean. Christine, the owner, went out of her way to find me a perching chair for the shower. We’re already planning another visit.

We spent three nights in No4, which opens onto the garden. It was spacious, immaculately decorated, and spotless. During the heat wave I worried it might get too hot at night, but the large freestanding fan kept us comfortable. The bathroom was big, with modern fittings, all immaculate. The food was well cooked and nicely presented. Sitting in the garden with a drink as the sun went down was so relaxing. The accommodation, food, and hospitality were all amazing. We couldn’t fault our stay.

The steak and chips with peppercorn sauce were outstanding, among the best steaks we’ve had, and absolutely delicious. We had a delightful meal at The Red Lion Inn at Partney tonight. Christine, the owner, was lovely and made us feel welcome. The chef was lovely too, and the setting indoors and out was well presented and relaxing.
