The grounds were so peaceful that all our troubles melted away before dinner. Our toddler could run around on the grass, and as a mum to a little whirlwind, I never had to worry that he wasn’t safe or that we were a nuisance. Nigel welcomed us and let us settle in the lounge, where our toddler could get comfortable with all the space. Our Premium room was beautiful, with lovely views over the fields. The bed was firm and comfortable, and the en-suite was clean with a super hot shower. There was complimentary tea and coffee, plus cold water in the fridge downstairs. Dinner was another highlight. The caring staff looked after us well, and we could enjoy the stunning views while eating. The Pie & Chicken were exceptional, and the brownie and crumble were delicious, with generous portions. I highly recommend them. What a stunning hotel, everything felt perfect. Thank you for being so accommodating. We’re looking forward to coming back!

We enjoyed ourselves so much that we added a third night. The “luxury shepherds huts” hot tub was perfect, and the hut was even better than the pictures suggested. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully presented. Nigel was amazing when we arrived. He showed us around, explained how things worked, and shared pub and restaurant recommendations. My partner had secretly arranged for him to decorate the hut with birthday banners and balloons for me, which was just one example of the extra effort he put in. We’ll definitely return. Friends have already seen our social media posts and asked how to book. Thanks so much for a great weekend! Neal & Katy

The beaches nearby were beautiful, and just a 10-20 minute drive away, perfect for our dog to explore. We had a relaxing four days in St Agnes in the Beacon Hotel Shepherds Hut. It was cosy, modern and very clean, just like the photos, with impressive facilities inside and a hot tub outside. Nigel, the owner, was welcoming and helpful, showing us around and explaining everything. We’d definitely recommend the Shepherds hut and the Beacon Hotel. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

This family run hotel really does go above and beyond. From arrival through checkout, nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was friendly and obliging, happy to chat and share good advice about Cornwall and the local area. The service, rooms and food were all excellent, and the holiday was peaceful and lovely. If I could give the hotel 100 stars, I would. We’ve stayed at the Beacon three times, once with the previous owners and twice with Nigel, Jayne and their team. Thank you all. We’ll be back. I’m a light sleeper and usually struggle to sleep somewhere new, but I slept really well on both nights here. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with great beds and excellent views. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. There’s a comfortable, clean lounge, a bright and immaculate dining room, and a very pleasant garden. Breakfast was excellent too. We had a super stay as a family and look forward to coming again. I can’t fault this small hotel, they really know how to look after guests.
