The surroundings are nice, and the place is okay. I wasn't keen on the beer selection, though, and the food was pretty poor.

The garden was a real plus, especially with good weather, and there was plenty of food and drink to choose from. We enjoyed the tasty, nicely presented meal, and the atmosphere felt welcoming for families with kids. The staff were happy to adjust the menu to accommodate our request, which we really appreciated. A lovely visit, and we'll be back.

Tucked away in Gustard Wood, this little pub made a lovely stop for good food and refreshments. The staff were friendly and helpful too.

We had a filling lunch at a very reasonable price. My beef lasagne was excellent, with plenty of mince, fresh herbs and a cheesy top. Mum liked her deep fried seafood platter, though she found it a little heavy. The three of us also shared whitebait with buttered bread, and we ordered such a huge side of chips that I couldn't finish my garlic bread. The staff were quick and very friendly. I last came here 30 years ago, and the low key, popular pub hasn't changed much apart from its new toilets. One small thing I'd change: I'd rather have condiments in bowls than in disposable plastic sachets.

I only stayed one night, and the rooms were clean. The pub was superb, but breakfast was what really stayed with me. I still think about it, one of the best I've had in a while.
