The Kingswood

We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, where the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Thanks to the chefs and staff for such good service. The hotel is in a great spot, and our room was roomy, spotless and tastefully decorated. The whole place has been refurbished to a high standard. I'd gladly recommend the hotel and restaurant, and would visit again.

The food set the tone from the start: after Tamsin welcomed us, we went to the bar and had a gorgeous, mouthwatering cream tea. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings, and it's no surprise it was full. Dinner was incredible, breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, and the portions were generous at both meals. The staff were all friendly and helpful, even while rushing around during a busy stay. My wife and I wanted a short, relaxing break before an upcoming operation, and she booked The Kingswood. We couldn't have been happier with the choice. The room was spacious, spotless and well equipped, with all the modern touches. My wife usually wants to change something as soon as she enters a hotel room, but this time she just said, “Wow!” Everyone seemed to care about good value, warm hospitality and great service. We can't wait to book another stay in 2024.

We had a lovely stay at The Kingswood. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished, and the bed and pillows were so comfortable that I slept really well. My two dogs were happy there too. Dinner was delicious. We chose the steak for two from a varied menu, and it was tasty and didn't disappoint. There was enough left over for the dogs. We finished with treats for two, just right after such a filling meal. Breakfast the next morning was one of the best Full English breakfasts I've had, and it looked lovely too. We'll definitely return.

The restaurant was a treat, with excellent food at every meal. The staff were clearly busy at times, but the service stayed friendly and efficient. It's an attractive venue with a comfortable atmosphere, and I'd happily come back to eat even if I weren't staying at the Kingswood. We spent three nights here, with two dinners and three breakfasts. I was a little unsure about the main road location when we arrived, but the rooms were very quiet, well laid out, nicely furnished and genuinely comfortable.
