The Lodge, Polgooth

The views around the lodge were breathtaking, and I could have sat admiring them all day from the beautiful outdoor seating area. It's also a great base for exploring different parts of Cornwall, from charming towns and coastal walks to hidden gems. Everything about my stay felt welcoming and comfortable. The lodge was cosy, beautifully maintained and spotless, with care taken over every detail. The hosts were warm, friendly and happy to go the extra mile, which made me feel at home. It was everything I hoped for and more, and I'd highly recommend it for a Cornish getaway.

We had to find somewhere to stay at short notice after our first accommodation turned out to be unsuitable. We found The Lodge, booked it, and within half an hour Sue and Pete had it ready for us. It was peaceful and very quiet, and we really appreciated how pristine and spotless it was when we arrived. The lodge had everything we needed, including a well equipped kitchen and reclining sofa. Thoughtful touches such as subtle lighting and a water feature near one of the outdoor seating areas made the stay even nicer. Sue and Pete were brilliant hosts. They greeted us when we arrived, came to say goodbye when we left, and shared good local knowledge. They made us feel at home, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Pete and Sue made us feel welcome without hovering, and the place itself was wonderfully peaceful. We loved taking the early evening walk to the Polgooth Inn for a pint of Hicks. The lodgings were excellent. Mark and Laura would happily recommend it.

I came back to The Lodge this August for my second holiday, and it was every bit as good as the first. Sue and Pete are lovely hosts, and the place is immaculate throughout. Everything feels high-spec, with no corners cut or details missed. It beats anywhere else I’ve stayed, so book with confidence.
