The Vean

Luke gave us the warmest welcome and was a fantastic host. We felt cared for from the moment we arrived. The peaceful, beautiful setting made it easy to relax, and breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Our bedroom and bathroom were both large and tastefully done. Luke Tyler managed things with real professionalism and wonderful hospitality. Every detail was taken care of, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The country house has been beautifully restored or rebuilt, and its setting is amazing. Five stars, and highly recommended for a special private hire or a prestigious B&B stay.

I photographed a wedding here on a hot day, and the grounds were beautiful. The couple had a marquee by the beach, which looked stunning throughout the day, even when a little rain came through. The photos are from the beach, not from the vean itself.

The staff who served us were so professional and went out of their way to make sure everyone had a great time, even sorting out extra children's meals as if by magic. I was a guest at a wedding breakfast and reception. Drinks were served inside, then the breakfast and evening reception were in a marquee on the grounds. The grounds were well kept, with good access and overflow parking in the field by the main road. Mobile reception was very patchy, though guests can use the venue Wi-Fi.
