The bus stops at the hotel about every 15 minutes, runs until late in the evening, and takes around ten minutes to reach town. The staff were helpful and knew their stuff. I especially liked being on the coast road, where we could stroll along the beach in the evening, pick up food from one of the local takeaways there, and sit watching the sunset. At low tide, the view is stunning. I much prefer that to staying in a built-up area without the scenery. We stayed at Samares in July 2016. Breakfast was very good, with a full English and continental options. I’d recommend the hotel and would stay again.

I’ve stayed here five times, and the lovely staff have welcomed me every visit, especially Stanley. It’s the best hotel around here. The pools are kept clean, and the indoor one is heated to a comfortable temperature, not too hot. There’s a pleasant view across rocky St clements, but the rooms at the back face the car park, so I’d say it’s worth booking a front room. The hotel restaurant offers a different menu each night, with reasonably priced, good-quality food and a nice sea view. Breakfast is superb, with a full English or continental choice.

I used to stay here as a kid. The location is lovely, though there weren’t many accommodation options in the self-catering section. It has a distinctive, pleasant smell that I can still remember.

The hotel is closed now, which is sad. I really enjoyed my stay there. It was a very nice place, with lovely sea views, especially from the restaurant.
