Glenside House

The garden at the back was a godsend for the grandchildren, and I could enjoy the sea view with my morning tea. We had the whole family at Glenside House last April for my 60th birthday, and there was plenty of space for everyone. The rooms were bright, roomy and tastefully decorated; one even had a private Narnia bathroom! The living area had space for us all to read and play board games, even with the cricket on TV. My favourite was the family kitchen, so well equipped, where we enjoyed cooking on the range oven. I claimed the seat at the head of the table for its lovely sea view. Having room to eat breakfast and dinner together every day was grand, and made memories we’ll cherish. Carbis Bay is a walk down the hill, handy for morning and evening walks with our family Dachshund. One of my favourite family holidays, and a lovely way to spend my 60th.

We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, with plenty of storage in all the rooms and clean, comfortable communal areas. The well-kept garden is a good size, and my kids loved playing out there every day. Glenside House was perfect for a large family with people of all ages, with a warm, welcoming family feel. Even in April the views were incredible, including from the bedroom window, what a way to wake up! The location worked really well. The walk down to the beach is a little hilly, but the scenery made up for it. The local Tesco is only 5-10 minutes away, and the transport links are excellent. I’d recommend the train to St Ives, it’s beautiful and well worth the trip. Nothing but compliments from me, and I’d definitely recommend booking this house. Thanks to the hosts!

The house is lovely, has everything you could want, and is excellent accommodation. The steep hills around it made the location harder for my 74-year-old sister, who really struggled with them. We tried to limit car use because the trains and buses are first class, and the Tesco store 10 minutes away was a godsend. I’d definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Another brilliant stay in this brilliant house. Even with February temperatures, we managed a great meal at the Porthminster Beach Cafe and some surfing on Porthmeor beach. Pasco (dog) loved his walks on Carbis Bay beach.
