Bannatyne Spa Hotel Hastings

What stood out most was the impeccable service. Everyone we met, from check-in through the spa, restaurant and bar, was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to go the extra mile, which feels so rare these days. Well done, Bannatyne's, I’m sure Duncan would be proud 👏 We’ll definitely return. The room was lovely, with a massive bed, great views and real quiet. Food was excellent, with a fab selection, all tasty and well cooked. Breakfast is a buffet, but you can order things too, and my eggs royale were delicious. The spa was really good as well. I loved the jacuzzi and steam room, and had a gorgeous massage.

The deluxe room was spacious and practical, and everything worked fine. The main nuisance was the pillows, which were really uncomfortable. Breakfast was basic, though you can order a cooked breakfast from their small menu. We stayed for Valentine’s Day and had a very nice dinner, but go elsewhere if you want a good steak. The Chateaubriand was overcooked. The hotel and spa are good, though the spa is in a separate building, which is inconvenient in bad weather.

The food is great, even though it isn’t cheap. The rooms have a classic British look and are clean and spacious. Instavolt charging and the spa and gym are a two-minute walk away. They’ve always treated me well. Staff who’ve been there a long time know me and what I like, and try to accommodate me. They’re also keen to hear constructive feedback. The lift still breaks all the time, and the air-conditioning systems are noisy.

The dinner was truly delicious, and they were very accommodating with my coeliac dietary needs. Breakfast was great too, and everyone we met in reception and the restaurant was lovely. We had a wonderful break at a reasonable price. Thanks to Saskia, we were able to add an extra night, and the room was spacious and lovely, and stayed very warm on a freezing evening. One thing to know is that the gym and spa are in a completely separate building, a couple of minutes’ walk across a car park.
