Inside, the caravan was huge, comfortable and nice and quiet where we were. The bed was comfortable, the heating was nice, and it was affordable. We travel in a van, so anything feels more comfortable and spacious than that, and we loved our stay. The only issue was that it was really hard to get a good Wi-Fi signal indoors. Luckily, we brought Starlink. It was clean, but remember to bring your own soap, kitchen towel, sponge, toilet paper and bathroom towel.

The security man at the gate was amazing, very friendly and full of empathy for Mum. But after paying £600, I feel I have every right to leave a bad review. We’d booked an accessible caravan for two weeks, but came home after six days. It was meant to be a bronze, but felt more like a savers. There were rusty curtain rails, a mouldy shower curtain, stained carpets and no lights in the bedroom. There wasn’t a TV in any bedroom either. I have pictures. Mum has primary aggressive MS and is prone to sepsis. She’s had it twice, and rusty rails aren’t safe with this. When I complained politely and showed pictures, a young man at the desk was hostile. I tried to explain Mum’s condition, but he stood up and said, “I can’t handle her. You deal with her,” to another colleague. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but we paid all that money and came home eight days early.

Just got back from four nights and we had the best time. The staff were all lovely. Shoutout to Daisy, Lois and Sophie, who made my child’s holiday amazing. She hasn’t stopped talking about you all! There were lots of lovely food choices and entertainment options, and she especially loved make your own bear.

We arrived around 8pm on Friday and it was busy, with security working flat out handing out keys. My first caravan was awful. It was right at the back and hard to find, looked onto an overgrown grass verge, and smelled horrible. Flushing the toilet brought a sewage smell. I have mobility issues and had asked on the phone how far it was from the car park. They said not far, but it was ridiculously far. The reception was closed when I went back, so security had to handle everything. Big shout-out to Joel and Joe, who were letting people in and out while also dealing with complaints, people who didn’t fit, caravan problems and queues down the road. After I moaned a bit, they found me another caravan. It smelled strongly of body odour, but we had no other option. The bathroom light didn’t work, and with no maintenance available after 8pm, we had to wait until morning for it to be fixed. It had been cleaned, but not well, and was grubby. I brought bleach and cleaning supplies and cleaned it myself. I also had to buy air freshener on site because the sweat smell was disgusting. There was a major phone signal problem around the park and no Wi-Fi in any of the caravans, which is ridiculous these days and a missed opportunity. There’s free Wi-Fi in the clubhouse and the surrounding area. Daytime activities were expensive, though we did them. The staff were friendly enough for the price, but didn’t interact much or engage with the kids. The pool was okay but very boring, as there wasn’t much to do beyond swimming. The slide is outdoors, which is fine in good weather, but one day it poured all day and was cold and windy, so queuing for it wasn’t ideal. The changing rooms were disgusting, with rubbish everywhere and mud and dirt from people’s shoes. There were no shoe protectors. They had plenty of staff, but nobody seemed to clean the changing areas or toilets after each session. I hurried to the clubhouse for bingo and got there at 5.02pm. They told me it had closed at 5pm, which was frustrating because I’d asked the entertainment team about it earlier and they didn’t tell me. Then they spent time explaining the rules, and bingo didn’t start until 5.23pm, so they could have sold me some books. All in all, I won’t be rushing back. Compared with what many other Haven parks now offer, this place is quite far behind on food options and facilities.
