We stayed five nights over Christmas 2025. The restaurant stayed quite busy even though the hotel itself was quiet, and the food was superb. Our spacious superior king room was serviced daily and looked over the ski lodge, with distant harbour views. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were friendly and polite. Our service dog Ivy was loved by everyone. There’s a great park opposite, which felt safe for our morning and evening walks. We’d like to return in summer to see the refurbishment being carried out in early ,26.

We had a gorgeous room with a lovely balcony view, and reception were really helpful. Breakfast had lots of choice and the staff there were great too. There’s no gym on site, but a large one across the road. We didn’t get to try the pool, though it looked lovely. Cocktails at the leopard bar are a must. Would recommend!

The terrace had a lovely view, and the area was quiet. Staff were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was good. It is a bit of a walk up a steep hill, though. Our “upgraded” room was right above the big flags on long poles by the hotel entrance. In the recent strong winds they rattled and flapped below our windows, which wasn’t great when we were trying to sleep.

We settled in quickly during our eight nights at the Duke of Richmond. The team worked so smoothly together, and the food was perfect, so we ended up eating there five nights. Breakfast was amazing and served at the table, and we had pre-dinner cocktails in the leopard var before heading to the restaurant. Highly recommended.

The rooms were elegant and spotless, with thoughtful touches that made things extra comfortable. Staff were professional, attentive and helpful from the moment we arrived, and made us feel welcome. We also had a delicious breakfast with good-quality choices and great service. The Duke of Richmond Hotel is beautiful and in a lovely location. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended.
