Greenhills Country House Hotel

My family and I spent 5 days and 4 nights here, and the staff were attentive, reliable, and efficient. That includes the two lovely women at reception, the restaurant team, and housekeeping. Thanks to everyone at Greenhills Country Hotel and Restaurant for a lovely stay. I’ve attached photos of the hotel and food. Definitely highly recommended!!!

We came just to try the bar food this time. There was a good range of choices, everything we had was really tasty, and the service was excellent.

The staff and service made this one of my most memorable recent hotel stays. It’s a short drive from the airport and there aren’t many other amenities nearby, but the hotel has what you need and the small grounds are lovely. There’s also an outdoor pool, closed in winter, which seems like a nice place to read and relax in summer. Check-in was a pleasure, and the welcome was warm. I arrived early in the morning, but they let me into my first-floor room, which looked out over the front of the hotel. There’s no elevator, so it’s worth checking with the hotel if stairs might be a problem. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had a homely feel. Everything was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and there was complimentary bottled water, drink-making equipment, and a few snacks. The bathroom was spacious and clean too, with good storage. The shower was over the bath and had decent pressure, and they provided pleasant bottled toiletries. Downstairs there’s a bar, a small lounge, and a restaurant. Drinks came quickly, and the staff were very attentive, perhaps a little too attentive. The bar has a small food menu, while the restaurant menu has more choice. I’d planned on a small meal before bed, but the food quality, presentation, and setting kept me ordering. The bread and oil before the meal, scallop starter, pheasant main, chocolate ganache dessert, and even the cheese afterwards were all perfect. It wasn’t cheap, but I thought it was worth every penny. I was nearly sorry to leave after just one night. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in Jersey.

We used the hire car to explore a lot of the island, and the hotel’s quiet rural setting in St Peter's made a great base. This was my first visit to Jersey, but it won’t be my last. The Superior Rooms were lovely, spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. After busy days out, we usually came back for food and drinks in the bar. Its menu isn’t huge, but there’s enough choice, and there’s a separate menu for the main restaurant. Meals were always piping hot and delicious, with local produce used wherever possible, they say. Breakfast was delicious too and had plenty of options. The staff were polite, lovely, and attentive without overdoing it. I absolutely loved this hotel and would highly recommend it. I’ll definitely return.
