The owners and atmosphere are lovely, and the menu looks tempting enough that I’d come back to try more. Finding the place is another matter, even as a local, since it feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere. I really liked the octopus starter with patatas bravas. The skate wing was too salty for me, and the almond cake was a bit dry without the ice cream.

We had a terrific dinner with friends in a relaxed setting. There was sardine, chorizo, steak and fish, plus a broad wine list at reasonable prices. A lovely evening for the four of us.

The owner checked in to make sure everything was fine, and the welcome from everyone was warm from the start. My courgette ceviche and cod were both fresh and delicious, with a comfortable pause between courses. It was my first visit, with family who live nearby, and we were all taken by the ambience. They’ve already booked another meal. I’d recommend booking ahead.

We stumbled on this place along the quiet back roads while biking around Guernsey. It was busy outdoors, but the staff were happy to seat us inside, where the restoration is beautiful. The charcuterie board and fresh bread were lovely, and the rice pudding was amazing. I’d gladly return if I’m back in Guernsey.
