We'd only planned to stop for a quiet drink on Sunday, but the food coming out of the kitchen tempted us into a two-course meal. The starters came quickly and were generous. The Duck Parfait was very nice, and the mushroom on toast was a good pick. My partner had the burger and I went for the Sunday turkey roast. Both were delicious, generously sized and served quickly. Two courses each plus a few drinks came to just over £70, which seemed reasonable. We'd definitely come back.

We stopped by for Sunday breakfast with my wife and two sisters. We tried three options between us, Eggs Benedict, English, and French toast with bacon, and all of us enjoyed our choices. The service was polite and cheerful, and the prices weren't high. We'll be back in March. I'm already looking forward to it, especially since it won't be my turn to pay 😁.

We left full and happy, feeling we'd spent our money well. The Sunday lunch was delicious, and the puddings were too. I had the spiced plum and cherry trifle, while my partner chose the sticky toffee pudding. It was our first visit, and the pub and restaurant were lovely, with views over the cricket club fields. The staff were all lovely and service was very efficient. The portions were just right, and bigger than I expected when I saw the dinners being served. We couldn't fault the visit. Worth a trip if you fancy good food with a view 😍.

We had a fantastic weekend at the Dog and Doublet. Our room was lovely, and they even had a bed and bowl for our dog, plus a snack bowl for him. The staff were warm and friendly, and brilliant with him. The food was lovely too. Thanks for a great experience, we'll be back.

The drinks were good, with a solid choice of lager and ales, and the fire was a nice touch. We popped in for a couple of drinks, then decided to order food. The burger and chips came to £37 for two people, but what arrived was basically two Big Mac meals. Very disappointing. Drinks, great. Burgers, rubbish.
