Breakfast was good, with a nice selection, and it was easy to walk into the town centre and shops. The hotel is within Stamford, up by Bottle Lodge of the Burleigh estate, and has a handy path giving access to the Burleigh estate. It worked out great for visiting family nearby. Thanks.

We had a private party meal for a friend's birthday, and the food and accompanying wine were excellent. The service was attentive, very good with allergies, and Alina deserves a thank you for the quality of her service. Our room at The William Cecil was spacious and lovely, with excellent facilities for making tea and coffee. The hotel is just a short walk from town and Burghley House, and I’d certainly recommend it for a stay in Stamford.

This was our third year staying at The William Cecil, and we love it. Breakfasts were super, with plenty of choice, and it’s a short walk into town. Our room was at the back of the hotel and spotlessly clean, so a big thank you to the housekeeping staff. The bed was very roomy and comfortable, and the overhead shower was big and powerful.

The breakfasts were delicious, with plenty to choose from, and the staff were very nice, especially at reception. The hotel seems to be in a nice location, though it rained constantly during our stay, so we didn’t spend any extra time outside. Room 2 was awful. The bed was comfortable enough and the linen was clean, but the old single-glazed windows were draughty and poorly maintained. The decor was poor, with loose paper and cracks in the walls and ceilings, as shown in the photos. There was mould around the bath and in the bathroom window frames. It was expensive.
