Bridge Cottage B & B

We needed a place to stay for a nearby auction, and Bridge Cottage worked out perfectly. Miranda even managed to fit us in at the very last minute. The cottage has a lot of charm, and we felt comfortable throughout our stay. It was very dog-friendly, and our little girl got along really well with Nimrod. Breakfast was great and set us up for the day. We had dinner at the Greyhound, an enjoyable five-minute walk away. There are two pubs nearby. It made for a lovely trip, and I’d recommend the place.

Miranda made us a packed lunch, which was a real help since food options along the South Downs Way are limited. We were walking the route and stayed at Bridge Cottage, about two miles north of it. The No 60 bus takes you from the path to the Greyhound, right beside the cottage, and it's a nice pub with great food. Our room was lovely, and we really enjoyed the excellent breakfast. The peaceful garden was a treat too, with deer to spot and owls to hear.

Breakfast was superb, and we slept very comfortably. The house has plenty of old-fashioned charm, so don't come expecting brand new rooms or the latest fittings. It's tucked away in lovely countryside, yet a couple of pubs and the town of Midhurst are still close by.

The room and toilet were clean, and the toilet had a view, though no curtains. We had our toddler with us and found there wasn't a high chair, but they made a normal chair work by adding a cushion. The garden was lovely to wander around in the evening, and we had dinner at The Greyhound, about a five-minute walk away. They have a kids menu too. The owner was friendly and the atmosphere peaceful. If you enjoy fairytales, books, paintings and nature, this place will appeal to you. We were really pleased with our stay.
