The Poachers

There's no food, just a proper local with darts and a pool table, but the Guinness was the best I've had in ages. It's an Irish-run pub, welcoming to families, and there's always football on across the multiple screens.

I popped in for a quick drink on Saturday lunchtime and really liked the lively feel. The beer and service were good, and the clientele added to the atmosphere. I'd be happy to make it my local. I probably will!

The surrounding area may look rough and run-down, but stepping inside the pub feels like a complete change. We got a very warm welcome, and the bedrooms were lovely, with a comfortable bed. There's a well-stocked kitchen for guests, and a small supermarket practically right outside. Highly recommend.

We ended up downstairs in the bar until closing because Zoe, who worked there, was so friendly, and the customers were lovely too. Connor, who I believe is the owner's son, was very attentive. We stayed overnight in one of the beautiful rooms, and we'll definitely look at staying here again when we need accommodation. You also get a free drink with your stay. Love it, keep up the good work.
