We spent two nights there over a weekend for our anniversary and would definitely return. The staff were superb throughout, especially Logan, who was a total pleasure. We got a warm welcome on arrival, and our room was clean, spacious and lovely and warm for the whole stay. Breakfast was very good and cooked fresh, with a hot vegetarian choice as well as a continental option. There’s also a good bar with a nice selection of evening and bar meals at good prices.

The restaurant dinner was fantastic, and the staff were really friendly. We stayed just one night at this gorgeous hotel, though we’d happily have stayed longer. It felt like a real castle throughout, and our room had exposed stone and a sealed-off fireplace. It was extremely quiet and cosy, so we slept really well. Highly recommend staying here!

The rooms are a good size, and the hotel is in a quiet area. It’s a lovely old baronial-style manor house, with really helpful staff, thank you John! Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were both excellent.

We stayed two nights and really enjoyed it. The room was large, with great views and a comfy bed. The staff were very friendly, and the food we had was tasty. It was quiet because of the time of year, but we’d certainly come back.

The room was roomy and clean, and having a fan plus windows we could open was a real help in the warm weather. The outside of the building has a lot of charm. We also ate meat pie and fish and chips in the restaurant, both were delicious. The bartender, who I think was the owner, was really friendly and suggested things to see and do nearby and in Edinburgh. A pleasant stay.
