West Plean House

Hannah made us feel welcome right from the start, and the care she put into everything made the stay feel personal. I can’t find a single fault with this B&B. The house was spotless, and although it’s an old building with a lot of history, it’s been cared for so well that it felt comfortable rather than like stepping back in time. The furnishings were lovely, and the bed gave me the best night’s sleep of my travels. Breakfast was a treat too, with eggs from their chickens, smoked salmon, fruit, and really good coffee, all prepared with care. This was the best bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed in. It set a new standard for me, and I’d give it more than five stars if I could.

Our room looked out over lawn and trees, such a peaceful view. The house feels like it’s been loved and looked after for a long time. We were lucky to get a night at West Plean House, and it was a wonderful stay. The room was immaculate, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and breakfast was delicious, just as other guests have said. If you’re visiting the Stirling area, this is a lovely place to stay. Wishing Hannah and her family many more happy years there!

The Maple room we booked for one night was small for two, just as the listing said. For a longer stay, I’d probably choose a bigger room. Still, we’d happily book again. It was one of our best stays in Scotland, and Hannah arranged everything well. Breakfast might be the best B&B breakfast anywhere: plenty of fruit to start, and since I’m vegan, she made me a lovely hot vegan meal with mushrooms, tomatoes, and porridge. It was completely quiet at night, even with the window open.

A Giant Sequoia on the grounds makes this gorgeous place even more memorable. The room was supremely comfortable, the welcome came with smiles, and breakfast was spectacular. I didn’t want to leave! It’s also a great base for Stirling castle, the William Wallace memorial, and the Falkirk Wheel.
