The Harvard Inn

The lamb roast was delicious and very generous, and we enjoyed the starters and desserts too. They were nicely presented and tasted even better. My family and I had an amazing Sunday lunch here. I took off one star because there was quite a lot of mess on the tables, and the menus had food stains. It was a busy Sunday, but there were plenty of staff on shift, so things could have been tidied up better and made for a more pleasant visit.

We had a really tasty lunch, and service was quick. The staff were kind and accommodating. The breaded Brie was incredible, and I’d definitely recommend the halloumi burger, which had four huge chunks of halloumi in it.

Friends suggested this pub while we were in town, and we were glad we went. We liked the look of the place, and everyone was super nice and friendly. At lunchtime I ordered gammon with fried eggs and fries, my wife and her friend shared the prawn sandwich with chips, and my daughter had the kids burger. I also had a nice cold beer while we waited. The food was great overall. My only preference would be warmer gammon. I used the eggs to warm it up, but that first bite was a little off-putting. The burger patty was handmade, with nice onions and more in it, and my wife absolutely loved the sandwich. It was an awesome place to eat.

A family member recommended The Harvard Inn, and what a find. It’s a beautiful place to stay in a great location, with spacious rooms equipped with everything you could need. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was great. Mark and his team made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked two more stays. Highly recommend.
