Premier Inn Stockport Central

Our room was clean and spacious, and the shower was great. We didn’t try the Hungry Horse. The receptionist gave us a lovely welcome and there was plenty of parking. We couldn’t hear the motorway or trains from our room, though my sister could from hers. The planes stopped around 11pm and started again at 6am, but even with the window open they didn’t disturb us.

The staff are friendly, and it’s very close to Stockport town centre, so I’ll come back. I’ll ask for a room in the main hotel next time. I’ve stayed a few times over the past few years while visiting family. The last two stays were in the annex. It was clean and otherwise lovely, but the radiator seemed broken and there wasn’t much heating. The portable heater kept the room warm while we were in, but after being out it was freezing 🥶.

I was offered breakfast, and while it was edible, the bacon and sausage were swimming in black oil. The room itself smelled unpleasant, maybe because of a dirty carpet. We stayed two nights over Christmas. There were dirty cups, no heating apart from an oil filled radiator with dodgy wheels, and faeces on and around the toilet paper holder.

The hotel is comfortable and good quality, in a handy spot just outside the town centre. The breakfast place next door let it down, though. Do yourself a favour and walk into town to eat, it’s only a few minutes away.
