The gardens and countryside were a big part of why we chose this place, along with being near Yeovil to visit family. Ham Hill is right on the doorstep for walks, there are plenty of country pubs nearby, and the owners have their own private 7 acres of gardens. Abby and Matt made us feel welcome straight away, showed us around, and even helped with cooking oil when I’d forgotten to buy some. The apartments are clean, comfortable, warm and inviting, with a modern style. Since they’re self catered, the well equipped kitchen and living room make them feel like much better value than a hotel. The fabric sofas and carpets add a homely touch, even if they must mean more work for the owners. I’ve already booked my return stay.

Quietly set at the foot of Ham Hill, with 7 acres of grounds and a good base for exploring this lovely part of Somerset. The one-bed apartment was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and well equipped, though a veg peeler would be handy. It’s quite bijou and has no outside space, which I’d expected from the photo on booking.com. The bed was very comfy, and the welcome touches were lovely for our Christmas stay.

Abby and Matt were so welcoming and helpful. We had a lovely, relaxing weekend in a beautiful place, and our apartment had everything we needed. Can’t recommend it enough, we’ll definitely come back.

We stayed in Lilac, looking out over the lake, and spent time outside each day watching the wildlife and the ducks that came to visit. It’s such a peaceful place in a beautiful setting. Matt and Abby were friendly and helpful, with tips on places to visit and eat. We’d recommend Little Norton Mill for a relaxing break and plan to return.

Matt suggested a few local pubs within a 10-minute walk, and we followed his recommendation to The Nelson. It had a great atmosphere and live music, Elvis on a Friday. Take a torch for the walk back at night. We booked one night at Little Norton Mill and were delighted when Matt upgraded us to the Willow cottage. It’s a lovely two-bedroom retreat overlooking the lake, especially wonderful for my husband, who loves nature photography. The view was breathtaking, and the surroundings felt peaceful and picturesque. Inside, the apartment was stylish, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Matt welcomed us warmly and explained the facilities. This is a hidden gem for a relaxing countryside getaway, nature, photography and walks. We only wish we’d stayed longer, and we’ll be back.
