Our hosts, who live in the nearby house, were very friendly, and the accommodation was well equipped. We were also left complimentary milk, croissants and ginger biscuits. The space above a garage is reached by a flight of steps, so it isn't suitable for wheelchairs. Inside there's a kitchen, living room, shower and toilet, a single bedroom and a double bedroom with an ensuite. It's in the Cotswold village of Broadwell, a few miles from Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds at about 800 feet. There are lots of places to visit, including Bourton on the water, Bibury and Cirencester.

We found a plate of homemade brownies waiting for us, with Prosecco in the fridge. Honeysuckle cottage has three bedrooms and plenty of room, with toilets upstairs and downstairs, a lounge, dining area, kitchen and patio. Cleaning products and everything else you need are provided. It's a quaint self-catering place.

I had a wonderful stay here with my wife and our three-year-old son. The place was very clean, and there are lots of lovely villages nearby. We also took the train to Oxford for a day. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and would love to come back soon.

Pete was friendly and easy to deal with. The detached two-bedroom retreat above the owners' garage was peaceful and quiet, tucked away while still close to plenty of amenities and attractions. We'd definitely come back.
