The setting around Kenmuir Arms in New Luce is beautiful, and the small hotel made a lovely quiet retreat for a couple of days. Chris, the chef, is a magician with food and flavours, and the girls were friendly and always ready to help. Thanks, everyone. We’ll remember the place warmly. The five-course Sunday lunch was a real highlight, with some of the best food Dumfries and Galloway has to offer. A gem in the heart of Galloway, and, in my opinion, Michelin-quality cooking without the price tag. Our server was friendly and knew the food well, Michelle, I think, though I’m terrible with names. We also got to chat with Chris, the chef, whose knowledge and experience clearly come through in his cooking. 10/10, highly recommend.

The rooms were cosy and comfortable, and the team gave us a lovely welcome. The food was incredible, making great use of local ingredients, and everything was done so well. We’re leaving well fed and rested, with a new appreciation for this wonderful wee part of Scotland. An absolute gem, can’t recommend it enough.

The area around the hotel is stunning, with loads of lovely nature walks. It’s a wonderful place for a weekend away, with lovely rooms, a great atmosphere and homemade food that leaves you feeling refreshed.

Set on the banks of the Luce River, this little pub has been beautifully renovated. The team were friendly and hospitable, and Chris is both a lovely person and a wonderful cook. The food was absolutely excellent. We live in Sydney, Australia, and would still make the trip back for a Saturday night dinner! 😊
