The staff were all lovely and worked really hard, and everything was clean. The food was really good too, though it was odd that they wouldn’t swap the fried egg for a poached one. The waitress firmly said, “The Scottish breakfast comes with a FRIED egg.” The room was very cramped, the mattress was awful, and a lot of general maintenance is needed.

My wife uses a wheelchair and couldn’t access any of the hotel’s facilities. There were no facilities at all for disabled people. The hotel had been told in advance, but later denied receiving that information. We asked for a full refund and are still waiting for it. The most basic customer service has been an absolute disaster. Future customers, take note!

The bar and lounge had a great assortment of books and games to pass the time. We also enjoyed the evening meal and breakfast, both lovely, and everyone we encountered on staff was friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in the royal blue room and would certainly come back. The location was lovely, the hotel comfortable, and the grounds were nice, with a couple of entertaining alpacas. Staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and decent, although the haggis was quite cold and the black pudding only lukewarm. The pillows were pretty rubbish, and parts of the room were dusty, though a bit of dust won’t kill me. The TV didn’t work at first, but after fiddling with it we got it going.

The owner was pleasant and attentive, and the inside is absolutely beautiful. At breakfast there’s something for everyone, including vegetarian and gluten free choices. We went for toast and poached eggs, which didn’t disappoint. My boyfriend and I stayed last night and would definitely stay again.
