The bedroom was spacious and very clean, bathroom included, and the young couple managing the hotel made for an enjoyable stay. It’s outside town, about a 30-minute walk to the centre on level ground. The building is a period property, so it does feel a bit aged. Breakfast was continental and sufficient. It’s well worth considering for a visit to Stratford.

The owners were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was superb. There were warm croissants and delicious Italian-style brewed coffee. The place is clean and cosy, with lovely old-fashioned rooms in what seems to be a big 19th-century building.

We spent the day in Stratford after walking along the canal from this clean, lovely place just outside town. We got a taxi back for just over £5.00, then took the train in again that evening. The host was very friendly, the room was great, and it was a brilliant one-night stay. I’ll definitely be back.

The hostess was kind and charming, and took time to explain everything. She also shared valuable information about town and lots of recommendations for enjoying our visit. The room was lovely, with a very comfortable, clean bed, and the whole place had a warm atmosphere. A really lovely stay.

We rented the whole house for a week in June with six friends, and had such a good time that we’ve already booked it again for a week in December. There are five bedrooms, each with its own style and en-suite bathroom, plus a fully equipped kitchen and a large garden. We played croquet on the lawn and had barbecues most evenings. The basement games room has a pool table and ping pong. The owners were welcoming and helpful. The house is a fantastic listed building right by the canal, ideal for walks. Highly recommend. This is a picture of my bedroom.
