The Scapa Special was well kept, and it was good to find a real ale on. There were four pumps but only one beer available; with lots of kegs, though, the choice seemed good. I didn't eat, but the food looked appealing, and the place is popular with divers. It felt a little expensive. I assume the guy owns two pub-hotels in town, which gives it a bit of a monopoly, but it's still better than having no facility.

It looks pretty unassuming from outside, but inside it's a cosy, friendly bar. The Scapa whisky selection is great. I didn't eat this time, though the food looked good, so I'll try it on my next visit.

The food was delicious, though I thought the Hake fillet could have been a bit larger. We had a lovely evening in a nicely kept pub-restaurant, with pleasant surroundings, a warm welcome and lovely staff.

We started with an outstanding lunch from the seafood van outside, then went back for seconds and got seafood chowder. The scallop, black pudding and bacon roll was so good. The staff were lovely and interested, and the pint from inside was decent too.

The rooms have been newly refurbished and are bright, spacious and really nice. Breakfast was excellent, as were the staff. The man looking after us was a really nice guy who told us about the island's festivals and midnight golf tournaments, though I never got his name. I would've given it five stars all the way if the restaurant hadn't been closed until April. Luckily, Adams Place next door was first class. The bar had good beers and a great atmosphere, and after my partner left her hoodie there, we found it hung up in the breakfast area the next morning. Definitely a great place to stay in the Islands.
