The spa was the part we kept talking about afterwards. It was clean, peaceful, and easy to relax in together. Our room was spotless too, with a lovely presentation and a bed that made for a brilliant night's sleep. It felt cosy while still having a modern, luxurious feel. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Staff were friendly and professional throughout, and attentive at reception and in the restaurant without hovering. Breakfast had plenty of choice and the food was high quality, while the bar and restaurant felt relaxed. My girlfriend and I had a fantastic stay at the Aztec Hotel in Bristol. We left feeling rested and well looked after, and were already thinking about coming back. A lovely choice for a couple's break with comfort and time to unwind.

I really enjoyed the two-course lunch, especially the French onion soup and fish finger sandwich with chips. We could head to the bar for lunch in our gowns and slippers, and parking was free for spa customers, which was handy. Lauren gave me a 50-minute back massage and facial. She listened closely during the consultation, and the treatment was so relaxing I felt like a new person afterwards. The spa had a pool, a jacuzzi that runs every 10 minutes, a sauna and a steam room. Towels, slippers and cosy robes were provided, and the large relaxation room had healthy snacks, smoothies, hot drinks, coffee and even suki tea. A great spa day today. I'm looking forward to coming back!

The pool and jacuzzi were nice, and we enjoyed our trip to a pleasant location. The dining room was lovely too, and breakfast the next morning was really tasty. Our room was nice, but it was cold because the heating wasn't working. The hotel was full, so they couldn't move us to another room. They brought us a radiator, though it didn't quite do the job. We had requested a king bed but were given two singles instead. I'd return another time and hope to experience a room with working heating.

Breakfast was a bit of a strange start. Around 8:30am they seemed to have run out of tables, leaving about 10 people waiting by the bar. Thankfully we were seated before long, and there was a very good spread of pastries, bread, jams, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cooked breakfast and fresh juices. The machine coffee was very nice too. The hot tub was closed for maintenance during our visit, which was a shame, but the morning spa was relaxing, especially the steam room. We had dinner after booking a table in advance, which was fortunate as the restaurant was busy. The food was fantastic: charred corn ribs and chicken liver parfait to start, salmon and beef blade for mains, then chocolate ganache and cheesecake. Staff were polite and attentive, and a live singer was a lovely touch. The bar was cosy, with lots of seating, a good drinks selection and a hot open fire. I booked an overnight stay at the Aztec Hotel and Spa while visiting family in Bristol. Its spot by the motorway from London was very handy, and guests get ample free parking at weekends. The staff were helpful and friendly, and check-in was quick and smooth. My signature room was spacious, with a double bed, fitted storage, desk, curved sofa and wall-mounted flat-screen TV. It also had a large wardrobe, robes for the spa, a Lavazza coffee machine and a modern bathroom with a powerful shower. The building has lots of character, with high ceilings, and the spa opens at 7am. It was an enjoyable stay, even for just a day. I'd recommend it for a short Bristol break or a larger event, as there are suites for bigger functions.

We found the separate sofa area in our superior double especially useful during a stay of a few days. It meant we could relax somewhere other than the bed. There was a fridge in the room, and the free milk dispenser in the hallway made things more comfortable. The room also had a coffee maker, and reception could provide more pods when we ran out. My husband really likes his coffee. All the staff were welcoming and happy to help. The hotel is clean, modern and centrally located, with plenty of places to eat. Parking costs extra, which was my one frustration, as there isn't really another place for us to park. Cribbs Causeway, with its huge John Lewis and lots of dining options, is no more than 10 minutes away. The Aviation museum is nearby too and well worth visiting. We come to Bristol often and will definitely make this our first choice of accommodation.
