The Mermaid Inn

The Mermaid Inn's food was hands down the best I had around the Spalding area. The quality was superb, everything was beautifully prepared and served pleasantly. The menu is small but has a good range of little dishes, with something most people should like. You can check it online, though it may change, and it's best to call about specials. Prices are reasonable for what you get. We didn't book, but I'd advise doing so because it's a busy place. There's plenty of parking on site. This is the sort of place I'd travel back to the area for with family, and we'll be returning with family and friends. I can't comment on the stays.

It was really busy, and plenty of other people seemed to enjoy it, but I wasn't keen on the pie and chips. My husband liked the pork 3 ways and was hungry enough to finish my meal too. This used to be one of our favourite places, so it seems like something has changed in the kitchen.

After three years away, I found the food much better than on our last visit. There were five of us and we each chose something different from the menu. Everyone was happy with their choice, and we'll all be back to try more of it.

Our group of eight came yesterday 16th for my daughter in law's birthday. We brought balloons and banners, and the friendly staff put them up for us. The food was well cooked and came hot, with warm plates, and the prices seemed very reasonable for the food and service. We've been several times over the last six years, though I wouldn't call us regulars. It made for a pleasant evening, and we'll come back. Many thanks to all the staff, front and back.
