Portsmouth Inns felt cozy and welcoming, with a homely vibe that made the stay pleasant and hassle-free. The rooms are basic but decent, clean and well maintained. Good value for money.

The hotel was very clean, and the en-suite facilities were nice and spotless. The room was good, with good facilities, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It exceeded all my expectations. I'd definitely recommend it and stay again if I'm in the area.

The beds were rock hard, there were water stains on the ceiling, and the wardrobe couldn't be used because the table and chairs were in front of it. Beer bottles and tins were left on the balcony. The bathroom smelled of smoke, which made the waiver about not smoking in the room feel particularly audacious. There was a smell of cat pee at the entrance too. My only good point was the clean bed sheets. The first impression was of a cheap hostel, and this budget hotel wasn't worth the money. Don't bother.

It’s a basic place, but it was clean and comfortable for sleeping, which was all we needed. Since it’s central and everything’s an easy walk, it works well if you’ll be out all day. It was very cheap, so we got what we expected. I wouldn’t pick it for a romantic weekend, and it isn’t posh.
